WHAT WE LOOK FOR
We are looking for a System Operability and Operations Preparation Engineer to support operability, maintainability and operations preparation activities within the Galileo programme, working in close coordination with system development, operations and security teams.
Requirements:
- University degree (Bachelor’s or higher) in Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in system operations, system engineering, operations preparation or ground segment activities
- Proven experience in operability and maintainability analysis for complex systems
- Experience supporting system evolutions, deployments and operational transitions
- Experience participating in system and segment reviews (e.g. CDR, QR, SDQR)
- Knowledge of operational readiness processes, deployment planning and acceptance activities
- Experience working in regulated, mission-critical or high-availability environments is considered a strong asset
- Fluent English (written and spoken) – minimum B2+ level
- Eligibility for security clearance
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a System Operability and Operations Preparation Engineer, you will support Galileo system evolution and deployment activities, ensuring proper operability, maintainability and operational readiness.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Analysing operations return of experience and deriving operability and maintainability requirements for system evolutions
- Participating, from an operator perspective, in system design and development activities to ensure systems are operable and maintainable
- Supporting the preparation of operations and maintenance documentation within integrated system development teams
- Supporting the definition, verification and implementation of system operational transitions associated with system evolutions
- Supporting Galileo deployment activities related to GSMC, SECMON, GRON and POC systems
- Monitoring deployment schedules against programme baselines and reporting discrepancies
- Supporting segment and system reviews by reviewing relevant documentation and attending technical meetings
- Preparing deployment checkpoint activities in advance of planned deployment milestones
- Preparing and organising Operational Readiness Boards and migration-related boards
- Supporting acceptance activities once all required inputs and documentation are available
- Preparing minutes of meeting within agreed timelines and ensuring follow-up of open actions
- Tracking documentation deliveries linked to deployment activities
- Supporting the transfer of accepted deliveries to operations
- Consolidating templates and lessons learnt from previous deployment and operations preparation activities
